All the featherweight on Craigslist around here are about $450. Seemed high

Re: New Singer Featherweight C240
I bought my FW on Ebay. I think I paid $250. I love it and use it when I travel. I see them from $250-600. The sewing machine dealer I use has a number of them for $350 (last time I looked). If you are interested PM me and I'll give you his contact number.
(I hope this is ok, if not Karen just delete this).
PS - If it ain't a Singer Featherweight, it shouldn't be called a Featherweight! That seems like Toyota putting the Lincoln name on a Camary! LOL

Re: New Singer Featherweight C240
I'm wondering if the quality is any better than the other new Singers. I haven't been very impressed with them.
I do love my "real" Featherweight. I haven't really used it that much but it's just so cute!

Re: New Singer Featherweight C240
I have the Singer 15-91 also that my dd bought me for $40. It's in a cabinet, in great condition, she thought it was a FW bc that's what I really wanted. The downside only care with one bobbin and zero attachments. Would anybody answering this thread tell me what you rub on your machines to make them so shiny??

I use zymol auto wax, it cleans and shines without damaging the decals or finish.

Re: New Singer Featherweight C240
Also, check estate and garage sales, and thrift shop for the featherweights, I have purchased them for $100 and $200. Hear of some people getting them for less than $100, I haven't been that lucky.
