Made with a batik layer cake and yardage and backed with minky, which I won't use again as it makes it difficult to FMQ. The batting is cotton/bamboo which I haven't tried before but will again as it's lovely. A bit worried how much it will shrink though. The batik is hard on the needles as I went through 3 in the piecing stage as they became blunt and gave me skipped stitches. Put in a fresh one for the FMQ and it was fine. Because the seams can't butt together but have to sit 4 layers together because of the way it has to be put together, the joins in the rows are very bulky. So won't be in a hurry to do this pattern again, though I do quite fancy it in blue and white. All the FMQ was done on my domestic machine. Maureen x

Fantastic. You did a beautiful job on this quilt but you know, by now, we expect nothing less from you. You have spoiled us with your artistic ability. Your sewing and quilting projects are always exquisite. Another job well done!!
