Update on stationarymom (Joan) --2019 update, read 2nd page comments

I reached out to Joan (stationarymom) this evening...the doctors told her the surgery wouldn't be until September, but she received a call that it is scheduled for Aug 17th...surgery will take 8-10 hours and she should have a trach for about 5 days...her hospital stay will be about 10 days to 2 weeks...
For those of you who haven't been following her posts, she has squamous cell carcinoma of the mouth...they will remove part of her palate and some of her top teeth...they will remove skin and blood vessels from her arm to reconstruct her palate and also bone from her arm to rebuild her jaw...all of this will mean more skin grafts also...

she asks that that we keep her in our prayers...she has been in my thoughts and prayers for the last few weeks...I am sure she would appreciate some cards or notes from us...please send prayers...

I've been following the updates she's been posting and was hoping the date would move up. Pray things go well for her and someone can keep us updated.

I really don't know any of you all that well but when you hear of her surgery it sounds awful and painful and my heart goes out to her along with prayers and a quick recovery.
