    Default Another destash project

In my search last month for something specific that I was looking for, I found some orphan batik strips sewn together. There was a LOT of strips, but just 2 sewn together and cut into 6-1/2" lengths. I had no idea what these were intended to make, but by adding a third strip and cutting it, I made a perfect fence rail square block. Too boring to just sewed these together, so I added the white corner on 80 of the blocks to make the "Good Night, Irene" quilt.

The very week I had all those corners sewn on, Jenny came out with the Fence rail star pattern! Boy, I loved that one, but couldn't convert my blocks to stars. But I did have some plain ones left over. So I tried the Star, it was beautiful.

So here it is, with the corner squares on one side

And I am still practicing my feathers. If you don't look too close, they don't look too bad!

Thank you, friends! I quilted instead of napping this afternoon, what's up with that?
