Default Night Owls - How did your day go?

My day was so bad I'm having a pity party. Spent 4 1/2 hours today (travelling to/from an out-of-town doctor's appointment, an hour waiting for the doc, 15 minutes talking to his minions, talking with him for all of 5 minutes) Just to get the news that he can't do anything for me. I have a "mass of unknown origin" in my thigh ... not a tumor ... too close to the leg nerve and surgery could cause a severed nerve and numbness.

It took me a while to process ... I have pain ... it's caused by a removable mass ... but he won't remove it to relieve the pain because ... it may make it numb. Ohhhh, can't wait til my GP who referred me to this yo-yo hears this! Time for a second opinion, I think.

I pray that someone comes on to tell me how great their day went!

Judy i'm sorry you're in pain and the Dr said they can't or won't do anything.I hate having to deal with Dr's today it takes forever to find out what's wrong and to get treatment. My day was quiet ,I can't drive so i'm home all day.My Dad flew back to Ok yesterday ,driving into Boston was a pain in the butt, they're doing construction on the Mass pike so traffic was terrible.
I wish you better luck with another Dr,I agree you should have a second opinion

Time for a second opinion. Did they do a biopsy of the mass at least? Years ago, my aunt has a lump in her breast, not a tumor but an "unknown type", when they went to do the biopsy by inserting a needle into the mass to draw some of the tissue, turned out it was a big cyst that started draining as soon as that needle penatrated the sac.

I'm no doctor, but you would think at minimum since it's not a tumor they could at least remove part of the mass to relieve the pressure that it apparently is putting on the nerve that's causing the pain.

Praying that you find a doctor who can give you relief from your pain.

Oh Judy, bless your heart. Prays to you that you find the right doctor quickly. I am glad you found out before he cut on you that he is not the doctor for you. I know that doesn't help the pain go away, but I am thinking of you. I would be on the phone and tell my primary that you need a specialist ASAP that this person was no help to you.
My day was uneventful. Grandkids, puppy and a husband with a hurt back taking pain med that put him in a mood. Took the grands to the grocery store to get things they want to eat. Ya know all that stuff that mama says isn't healthy but make them happy. We will have the stuff that is good for you, but a cookie, ice cream and kid cereal ever so often isn't going to kill them.

Judy, so sorry to hear your news. It is not fun to be in pain and even more frustrating to deal with doctors at times. Dh has been dealing with that this year with his shoulder. I think we finally have surgery scheduled for him. I hope that you will be able to find the right doctor quickly. Thankfully, my doctor annual visit went well today.

Seager is growing quickly. He has mastered learning to sit up by himself from a laying down position and was all over the floor doing his own style of crawling tonight.

Have a hoot of a night everyone

Judy, after all that you deserve your pity party. I sure hope you can find a doc that can give you some better news.
    Caroline, what a story!
Electrician came this morning and changed out the breaker. I had to reset it 4 times Monday to get through one load of laundry. Supposedly they had originally used the wrong type. Don't know why it took 3 months to start giving me issues. After that, just an uneventful day.

Hey Judy, next time just call me and I can tell you over the phone that you have a mass of unknown origin! As if you didn't know that! That's why you went!

Today has been pretty good here...the Cavs/Warriors game was fun to watch and when I wasn't watching that I kept busy tracing animals onto fabric with my new light box and cutting stuff out. It's fun selecting the fabrics for the critters. I'm surprised how much work I did before. I'm unearthing a lot of finished blocks and adding what I did today I might be about a quarter through with animals. I still gotta get down to Jo Ann's and look for more acid green Kona fabric...why isn't Jo Ann's open at one a.m.? I did look online but I can't trust the monitor colors to match what I've got.

I am up looking at the Daily Deal, and drooling.....I really like that Jelly Roll !
I am going to place an order today....I have a couple of things I really want and I figure I better get the order in before I forget about it.
I slept most of the day...and so now I am up ! Grrr....I hate when I do that. Oh well, the house is quiet and I should be able to get some work done ( sewing )

Judy, I hope the next doctor will be able and willing to help you!

Life has definitely calmed down here in the past ten days. I still have long work days because a lot of things have piled up while I was so focused on the writing task but it's (I am) way more relaxed.

Today is a happy day because one of my oldest friends is getting married. They have been together for 24 years today with lots of ups and downs and there were times I thought they wouldn't make it but thankfully they have. We met when our older kids went to Kindergarden together which was more than 23 years ago. They are celebrating only with a few close friends and family and we will have a wonderful evening. I want to make a quilt for them but she only told me on Monday and I was working all week so I guess I will have to give her a voucher for that quilt tonight

I was supposed to visit my other very close friend in Bavaria next week (and also to sew lots of baby clothes) but she's not feeling well and I don't want to put any additional stress on her, so it's not going to happen. The baby is due in July and I am a little bit sad because we haven't seen each other this year so far. I will be on a congress near Augsburg where she lives early in September and plan to drive over for a couple of days after that and before the retreat.

Judy, what a frustrating day you had with all that travel to/from the appt., waiting, & then to not have any quality time with the dr. & no answers. I'd be having a pity party, too. I hope you soon will find a caring, knowledgeable physician who can help you. It's no fun being in pain all the time. I hope today will be a better day.
