    Default Half Log Cabin ???

I was surfing the net looking for quilts, and found this :

    http://www.maryquilts.com/half-log-cabin/

I have recently started to have some interest in the Log Cabin Pattern.....and so when I found this, I thought it was really pretty.

Both of those are pretty cool. I like the fabrics used in the half log cabin quilt. Those colors are beautiful.

I wonder why they call it a half log cabin. Isn't the block a log cabin block? I like the way they arranged the blocks but to me it is still a log cabin block being used. Log cabin blocks are a wonderful use of scraps.

In a regular log cabin block the strips go all the way around the center square while a half block only has the strips on two sides of the starting square.

Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.

Here are wonky log cabins. Even if they aren't traditional they are still log cabins,

Sugar, I'v used Mary's half log cabin pattern often, especially when I was making quilts for her Heartstrings group. Met her in Maine at one of the groups's sew ins. Need to stop by her site to get re-acquainted.

I just had never seen it, and I was really taken with it.
I also found "JORDAN FABRICS" online....they have Log Cabin runners that are all packaged for sale, as well as other quilt items for sale.
Here's one of Jordan's Fabrics Table Runners :

While I am really partial to Jenny's tutorials, I have recently been enjoying Donna Jordan's video a great deal.
It's always nice to find someone else's work to enjoy.

Well, I am going to go take a small nap. I have been working on the Garden Flower quilt these last few days

I've made a half log cabin and really liked that pattern, it's one of my favorite quilts that I've made.
