Double Carpenter Star

Finished the top for this and now to quilt it. I will be sending this to the long armer as it is way to big for me on my Sweet Sixteen. I just don't have enough room around my machine to manage it. Now I just have to piece together the backing and I am humming and hawing about that.

Yes, this one is for me....but then again all of them are for me until after I've had them for a month or so and then I usually find someone that would love it....LOL!

Wow, it looks 3 dimensional! I'm very fond of lavender & purple. It's beautiful! Backing ~ maybe a small floral print that has lavender & purple in it?

Do you plan to use yardage & piece the sections or buy 108" wide backing fabric? I just browsed some of the backing fabrics. Check out Bali backs batiks - swirls purple; Solid purple in the wide back batik; also Romance - violet in the 108" width. I browsed only a few pages. I'm sure there are more options there.

I love your quilt, colours. I know what you mean about sending to LAQ. My DH bought me/us a Sweet 16 last year so we could do our own quilting. The issue is that I only make large quilts, queen or King), only occasional small quilts. He has been working on quilting his King size quilt, and is re-thinking this decision.
