Hi, I’m Blondie from Canada. I recently returned to quilting after a 10 yr break. I think I quilted for 9 years before that. I did heirloom (hand and machine) sewing, drapery, some upholstery work prior. I’ve sewn since I was a little girl. I want to rediscover my design and FMQ skills. I love contemporary and abstract quilts. I’m quite shy so I enjoy learning through the Internet, books, shows, and one-on-one with the talented passionate people who work in my local quilt shops.

Hello Blondie and welcome to the forum from Michigan. I learned so long ago, long before Internet and I too am shy (not as bad as I used to be!), so I learned from books and magazines. This is a great place to learn. I still hand quilt. Jump in and join the comradery!

Goodness! Took me quite a while to regain access. Had to start over, but am glad I'm finally here. From Texas, and have quilted for a quite a few years now - self taught watching my mom. Quilt mostly for family and friends and an occasional fund raiser quilt.

    Hi, everybody,

I’m a new quilter — just started last fall — and it’s taking over my life (in a good way). I’ve made a lot of quilt tops — most of which I’d characterize as “learning experiences,” but a few of which actually can be made into actual quilts! I’m eager to learn free motion quilting (maybe even get a long arm, far in the future), but for the next few months, I’ll be continuing to focus on making sure that my triangle points always show up on the right side of my quilt!

Thanks in advance for the helpful advice I know you’ll offer!

    Mary R
