Default Oly-Fun - Metallic Gold Yardage

I just noticed this in the MSQ shop. I gather it's pretty new. It doesn't say what it is made out of.

What do you think of it and what do you think you would use it for? It comes in three colors.

I am not familiar with the product but it seems to come in all kinds of colors and is used in a lot of different crafts.

Crafty Gemini used it for a clutch purse in this video.

I can't think of anything but a bag right now, but this would be cute with it.

I'd want to feel it to decide how to use it.

Just because I am not one of the sheep, it does not mean I must be a wolf.

In this day and age we have WAY too many people, WAY too sensitive about WAY too many things and taking something that only deserves a "ho hum" response as a slight against themselves personally.

Thinking is difficult. That's why most people judge.

I'm wondering how thick it is, or if it has a backing. Always something new to play with!

The name is a take off on olefin.

"Olefin fiber is a synthetic fiber made from a polyolefin, such as polypropylene or polyethylene. It is used in wallpaper, carpeting, ropes, and vehicle interiors.

Olefin's advantages are its strength, colourfastness and comfort, its resistance to staining, mildew, abrasion, sunlight and its good bulk and cover."

It can't be ironed and only spot cleaned, so that's something to think about. The edges don't need to be hemmed, which is nice.

Isn't that rose gold color pretty? I bet that stuff makes great pouches. It's actually polypropylene. Here is the Fairfield company info about it. Lots of great colors.

Ladies, have you ever received a free bag from the grocery store you visit? Most of those cloth like bags are made out of this product. I recently seen this at hobby lobby. My grocery store bags I have been using once a week for 10 years and have only had one bag go to file 13. (File 13=trash)
