Default Favorite Civil War Era block?

Will be spending a week with my DH's aunt this summer and want to make her a 24"x24" table topper/wall hanging. Walking into her house is like walking into a beautiful antique shop, so I'd like to use some of my civil war repro prints. What are some of y'alls favorite Civil War blocks?
    TIA!

Can you get on Pinterest? Just search for civil war repro quilts and you will see lots of samples. Usually if you click on a picture it will take you to the pattern, unless it is a photo from flickr. Good luck!

The only one I have ever done for CW is the 25 patch - 2 1/2 squares. Really nice, just had lot of seams to match. Sure was pretty when done.

I love star quilts of any kind. I'm fascinated with the Album quilts. They have messages and oh the history - my kinda quilt. But have you heard of the pot holder quilts? So interesting. They were small quilt as you go blocks (pot holder size), attached all together at a later date into a larger quilt. Many had inscriptions on them too. I love history! Bottom line, I like so many I don't really have a favorite!

Among others, I like the Connecting Threads Lasting Legacies Block of the Month - Block 2. Its a type of churn dash block. Sorry I can't upload a pic at the moment. Also Path of Freedom and Road to Victory in the book "Civil War Remembered". 19 quilts in this book.
