I'm jumping up on the soapbox that classynsassy just stepped off of. I have quilts made by both of my grandmas and a couple old '30s from my great grandma. I'm very sentimental and couldn't part with any of them. In my opinion, there is no such thing as an ugly quilt. I pray that it makes someone very happy and loved! Just my 2¢ worth.

That's a nice biscuit quilt. I made a small one of those for my dog and he loves to lie on it because it's soft.

I can't throw away things that family members have made either.....I love heirlooms. About 5 yrs ago, I went to the local Goodwill Store and there was 5 quilts that someone had apparently just gave to Goodwill. I purchased them, took them home, washed them and gave them to the local home here in town that is for men that are on a very limited income.
After that, I got to thinking about those men and so I then called the home to ask if they could tell me if the men that lived there had special things they enjoyed etc. I made pillowcases from John Deere Fabric, Wolf fabric, Cat fabric, Dog fabric etc.
A friend of mine and I have made placemats for special holidays for this home too......

I just really enjoy heirlooms !!!

We call them biscuit quilts. My dad made one out of bright colors and stuffed them with poly too. Only his biscuits were smaller than the ones on this quilt, and his didn't have the dimples in the middle. I wish I had it now, but my sister has it.

I'm sad she gave it away knowing her mom tried to leave something of herself behind. Breaks my heart.
