Default Cotton sateen as quilt backing

My daughter likes this backing https://www.missouriquiltco.com/shop...le-108-backing https://www.missouriquiltco.com/shop...le-108-backing. What do you think of cotton sateen as backing?

I think it would feel amazing next to your skin.

I agree! I've used a lot of sateen in clothing and it feels so good.

Is it slippery to work with though? Can it be hand quilted?

My LQS has a few bolts of cotton sateen in wide and I fell in love with it. I used a navy to back my bargello and it quilted just fine. My sister bought a tan sateen for a gift and it also quilted wonderfully. We quilted it on the long arm without any problems at all. I even cut my binding from the sateen and bound the quilt easily. I say buy it. It really feels wonderful.

I think it looks wonderful and imagine it will be an incredible backing! How "silky" it will make that quilt feel! I have never used cotton sateen in my quilts, but I'll be looking at it in the future.

Ok! I'll go for it. I am sending quilt to Missouri Star for quilting, so I am confident they can handle the sateen. Thanks for responses. I really appreciate this forum.

Its not slippery at all. You can work with it just like any quilting cotton. If you get the right sateen, it's 100% cotton.

I used this fabric (in the red color) to back a quilt. It feels very soft and cuddly. She will love it!
