Thank you Carlie. That is a great site. Lots of good ideas too!

I'll keep everyone posted.....not going to sew it together yet. Any more ideas, let me have 'em!

I am just more of a ...."everything has to match" kinda person. Scrappy's are hard for me. I didn't think I like the horse shoe pattern, but I do....just playing around. Wouldn't want anything so plain, but I do like this fabric the best. Plus I love it with the dark brown.Click image for larger version.

Try to NOT use the same color way strips as is in your fussy cut horse panel.

Seems like you have 1 or 2 blocks with BOTH browns/rusts and turquoise in it (bottom left). Do that for ALL the blocks -- so that the turquoise are dispersed throughout the quilt in EACH block.

I like the horse prints really well. You have one block with both turquoise fabrics together. I would separate them and mix in another color. Love your Christmas quilt.

I like the latest picture you put up. I think it looks nice :-)

Using another pattern idea I found on Pinterest...what about this? I'm liking it better without all the different fabrics. These are a few of my favorite ones. The pattern just called for 2 different fabrics and I was trying to do five. The rusty brown isn't showing up in the picture very well...may have to leave it out or maybe use it as a border.

Oh, I really like this layout and the colors too. I think what the others said about mixing those light strips with a darker strip would add more balance to your original layout. I'm not fond of the second layout - the one with the blocks and sashing - because it's all in rows and columns. I like a bit of variety and movement - I'm not a matching person, I like it scrappy.

Frankly, you may wish to nix the borders altogether. The panels are lost in all the color. In your first pic, the panels are separate and interesting. I would suggest a simple, light border with cornerstones around each panel.
