Black and white update

Someone asked me to post an update on the progress of my black and white quilt but I can't remember who. This is the first of 12 blocks in the quilt. The center is 15 inches and the 1/2 log cabins are 12 inches. The 1/2 log cabin blocks are added using "Y" seams. Not my favorite thing to do but this one turned out okay. Thanks for looking.

Whoa! This is BEAUTIFUL! Now wait just a minute....tell me again those Y-seams aren't so bad...? I am ready to drop what I'm doing right now to start this. I think I can figure out the sizes of the strips, but....Y-seams? Eeeeek! Tell me these 4 (4 PER block?!) shouldn't stop me from jumping right in....please say it shouldn't intimidate me like it does.

It is not hard if you have done "Y" seams before. The 1/2 log cabins must be square and the distance across the diagonal must be accurate. This pattern is copy righted or I would share more. The log cabin on the left has not been trimmed for assembly, the one on the right has. It does take 4 per block. Do a sample block and it will be fine.
