    Default The Math Dr's quilt

I'm so proud of my nephew who is earning his PhD in Mathematics this spring. When we were in Indiana for Christmas, I found out he wanted a quilt. It's not like I get to see him often, so I didn't even know he wanted one.

I purchased the jelly rolls while we were still there, showed him a picture of which quilt I was going to make and was thrilled that the fabric arrived within a week of us getting home. A week later the quilt was being quilted locally, three weeks later I added the binding and shot him some pictures asking when he was coming to get it. ;-)

I'm so excited to have this Binding Tool Star quilt ready for his graduation.

WooHoo! Congratulations on such a lovely quilt. And congrats to your nephew as well. I have a BS in Math, so I'm really happy to hear of someone progressing in this area!

Nice! And you did a great job creating a masculine quilt. I find designing for males is a bit of a challenge. Was it tough for you? Because you did it well.

And congratulations to your nephew! What was his thesis?

His thesis.... well, he told me... it's one of those nod and look impressed moments in time. It went WAY over my head.
