I had a hard time getting back to sewing after DH had surgery for prostate cancer. With my older brother dying last year from brain cancer and my younger brother dying of colon cancer right now, it was almost too much when Jonas got diagnosed. When I forced myself, for my own good, to get into my sewing room, I picked the simplest block and the brightest fabrics and went to work. Here's "Luna's Dancing Giraffe's." It is made for a dear friend's granddaughter.

What a cute little print! Love the colors and the scallop border. I've been thinking of and praying for you'll."I'm putting together a list of 100 reasons why I am NOT relentless!" - Sue Heck, The Middle

Cyndi that is a sweet and cheerful quilt that any little girl would adore! I have lived through times when multiple family members were passing. There is nothing that can ever prepare us for this, nor are there any words that will make it easier to bear. Finding something to put your hand to and keep your mind occupied is the best way to retain some sense of sanity. Keep doing what you can to look after yourself and know our thoughts and prayers are with you.Sandy B.

Re: Sometimes simplest is best when things are tough
Well, I don't necessarily think that a nine patch is all that simple. It requires a great deal of skill in seaming and nesting. I really have to concentrate to get all that going and on top of that your sashing is perfect too. I used to call making blocks mindless sewing until I came to the forum and realized that there was a lot to it. Thanks to all you wonder ful sewing experts, I have upped my game and am trying to make all my corners match as well as you do. The colors are great. I own Longnecks restaurant and our logo is giraffes and I haven't seen anything quite as sweet as what you have done. God bless your family and my 2017 be a better year for yousuccess is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiam
