Pat, I felt so bad for both of you when I read this. I just cannot imagine how hard all this must be for you both. It certainly puts things in perspective when you read something like this. I am going to try to think very hard before I complain about anything.

I have had both of you in my prayers everyday and will continue to pray for strength and healing for you both. Try to take care of yourself during this whole process and I hope you feel like sewing to give you a nice distraction.

Please tell MM there are lots of people praying for him and wish him the best and you too!!

So he did not have radiation, and he did have the cystectomy? That surgery is the one he is trying to avoid.

What are the current statistics on survival rates between surgery and radiation? Those numbers are what helped my husband decide between surgery and radiation for his prostate cancer. Now would be the time to ask that question if it hasn't been answered in discussions already. Thinking of the two of you daily.

With radiation, it increases recovery to 80%....quite a bit more than without it.

oh my. What a hard week indeed. At least ya'll are eating and sewing. That's very good.

A friend from church has cancer and had to skip his last two chemos because his counts weren't high enough. But he didn't get off totally - they poked him and gave him transfusions (I think it was blood but it might have been plasma) to increase his iron and other blood goodies. He feels better and will probably do next week's chemo rounds.

All the options are good to know and muddle over once you have the scans and test results. It's a physical problem for sure, but such an emotional drain too. Keep up your spirits!
