    Default Slightly Sad Night Owl

We cleaned all of the animal barns today and caught up on a few other chores. We were planning on going out to brunch tomorrow and celebrating our son's birthday.
We had a phone call from him tonight. There will be no brunch. He is at the hospital with our daughter-in-law. Apparently, they were going to tell us we were going to be grandparents again. She had an ectopic pregnancy, and began bleeding. There was a lot of blood in her abdomen, and they have her in surgery.
    I am worried about her.
I'm also a bit miffed. They are having trouble meeting their bills now. A baby is not going to help that, nor help her finish nursing school. Ugh! Kids!
We will grieve for the loss. Perhaps they will give it some more time before trying again.

I'll be up until I hear she is safely out of surgery. Not a fun night.

Sorry about the sad news, toggpine.

Not much sewing going on here. I did order some more ribbon for a cross stitch and ribbon embroidery piece of wisteria on a gazebo.

When I went in for my physical I got diagnosed with carpal tunnel and given a wrist brace which has let me sleep without being woken up in hand and arm pain. The brace is still a bit awkward and I need to cut the toes off a tube sock to pad the rough edges of the velcro straps. The doctor recommended that I do that, but I didn't mention that I don't own any tube socks. Maybe DH does...

Do you have any polar fleece scraps for right now? Then you could track down a tube sock later.

She is out of surgery and headed for recovery. I'll get more info later in the morning. It sounds like it might have been a tubal pregnancy. They are hoping she doesn't loose the tube. Poor thing. Our son will get the final word after the doctor comes out.

I was using some flannel scraps but I broke down and cut one of DH's socks. He has so many that he doesn't wear.

So sorry but things happen for a reason. I hope her recovery goes smoothly.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Having lost a pregnancy (5 months) many years ago - I totally understand how your son and daughter-in-law are feeling. Prayers go with you.
