I am sorry. I know you are worried and disappointed, but most likely everything will be okay and she will in the future have normal pregnancies. The doctor will probably advise waiting to get pregnant again. Hope they will listen.

Hi, Cathy, so sorry to hear of your loss. I had an ectopic pregnancy in 1981; they removed one of my Fallopian tubes. I was told I might have difficulty conceiving again. Welp, I became pregnant 6 weeks after my surgery, with my DD#2 who has spent her 35 years on the planet being a blessing to everyone she knows. I went on to have a total of ten children! Praying for your family.

Praying for a quick recovery. As for the initial pregnancy at a not so perfect time, just remember that not all pregnancies are planned. I was not trying for either of mine, and was even using birth control. After getting over the initial shock, I was then just thrilled to have two beautiful children. God does have his own plans for us.

    We have a final update.

The best they can determine, the egg did not release from her ovary. It was fertilized still attached and didn't pop loose. They think she was about 9 weeks along. The embryo was lost, and they had to take her right ovary and Fallopian tube.

Apparently she has had irregular cycles. From what I have learned about fertility and the oddities of it, her ovaries may have been doing this for years. It sounds as if they may need some hormone therapy before they try again. Then the follicles will ripen up and release the eggs with more reliability.

She is home and resting. They want her off work for 4 weeks and then 2 with light duty.

Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes.
