Default Quilt shops in Denver. Any recommendations.

    HI, all,

I will be visiting my FIL in Aurora, Co for the next week. Are they any quilt shops you would like to recommend? I would love to find one where I could grab a class while the husband watches football with his father.

Thanks for any help you can give,

    Diana

    High Prairie Quilts in Parker

I get the newsletter and there are classes. I'm sure other quilt shops in Denver do also, but getting to some from down here is confusing.

I like The Quilt Store up near Thorton but that's a bit of a drive from Aurora.
I've been in Holly's Quilt Cabin once, and they have a great selection but expect to pay full price.

The best quilt store in Colorado is in Colorado Springs though: Ruth's Stitchery

If she doesn't stop by this thread you might send a message to JCY, as she lives the closest to Denver as far as I can remember of anyone else in the forum.

I live north of Denver. If you feel like taking a drive, check out Lyons Quilting in Lyons, CO, which has a huge selection of fabrics! She carries a big selection of batiks & Kaffe Fassett fabrics. FQs are available for any fabric. Many gorgeous quilts on display. You can check out their fb page or google their shop. If you feel like doing some touristy things, you could tour Celestial Seasonings in Boulder. The tour is free. You can sample various teas while waiting for the tour to start. There is a really nice gift shop at the end of the tour. Just a few blocks from there is the Leanin' Tree Museum of western art. Beautiful paintings! This also is free. They have a wide selection of greeting cards in their shop. Leanin' Tree cards are very popular in this area. Enjoy your trip to Colo.

If you go to Boulder, Redstone Meadery has free mead tastings.
