    Bonnie Hunter's 2016 Mystery Quilt

Here's info from Bonnie's blog re: this year's Mystery Quilt:

Quilter, Teacher, Author, Hopeless Scrapaholic! Bonnie K Hunter is the head, heart and hands behind Quiltville.com.

First mystery quilt clue will be posted on her blog on November 25. The above link gives you a heads up as to the amount of fabric needed for each color (you can use different colors, and she tells you how to keep value in mind if working with a different color palette).

    Enjoy!
    Blessings, DramaMama

    Thanks for posting this!

Do I really need to get the triangle ruler or will I be able to get by with some of the gagillion rulers I already have?

Bonnie says on her blog that you can use the tri rec ruler and the Eazy angle ruler and companion angle ruler, I Think it is called.

So no you do not have to have the new ruler.

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

Ooh! I would love to join this one and actually use the colors Bonnie suggests since I love those colors. We're in the process of moving, so I am just not sure I can commit; but it's SO TEMPTING!!!

Ooh. I have the perfect magenta fabric for this too (my mom gave me a whole bolt of it).

Is anyone going to start a quiltalong group for this?

Beautiful colors...not my favorites. I have the magenta and neutrals, probably a good amount of the rest of the colors, but not enough. I'm really torn on doing this now. I'm certain it will be gorgeous, but.

I'll probably do half the blocks. Why did it have to be purple?

I wasn't going to do it either but decided to go ahead and join the fun. I'm choosing my own colors and to simplify things I'm using only one fabric per color. We'll see how that turns out. And I'm only doing half size.

I have figured out how to create groups! We now have a quiltalong group for anyone who's participating in the En Provence mystery quilt.

Wow! I like everything about this one! LOVE the colours...I'm sooo tempted to try this one. I've never done any of her quilts yet but I'm so intrigued by what she does.

I am hoping to do this one, at the very least I will do some blocks and save the pattern. I love the colors.

NOTICE: Bonnie said you can use other colors -- just to make sure that when you supplement the yardage requirement of one color for another that you substitute with the same value. EX: If Bonnie's quilt requires 2 yards of dark purple (the darkest value of one color way in her quilt), then you should have 2 yards of your darkest fabric.

Oh, I know that we are free to substitute! I'd rather do that after seeing the finished pattern, though. I had hoped to do it exactly as written and to be assured that I was making her original vision of the quilt.

I have two people who are "due" quilts from me, and both are men. If these colors had been more masculine, I would have been a happy camper to combine the mystery and my to-do list. If I'm able to pull the majority of her fabric requirements from my stash, it won't feel so self indulgent. The colors are really growing on me, and I may do it anyway.

I am in, have posted photos of the color selections, but that can be subject to change as I just pulled all of this from my stash. The greens are not as cohesive as I like.
Blogging ahead.....research in quilting and sewing with a dab of cooking/recipes too.

This is my 3rd one with Bonnie. Can't wait to start but need more fabric. Hope I get it done before I see her at our Bonnie Hunter retreat in Wa. State this coming year.
