Beautiful! When I was young some friends and I hiked off to a horse ranch. For some reason (that I don't remember) we got to ride some horses. I got bucked off and both feet step on. Got scared and said never again. I came here and tried to take English riding classes. Umm no, lol

I do still love them and have had some on our street that I walked the kids to feed. I even used one as a prop to sell a shirt.

I really hate it when the voices in my head argue among themselves as though I wasn't even in the room.

I tried to be normal once......worst two minutes of my life.

    They are beautiful!

Horses scare me. On our honeymoon, we went to St. Lucia and decided to ride horses on the beach one day. We went with a group and told the guy that I had never ridden and was a little intimidated. So he said he would give me one of the calmest horses. Walking to the beach was okay, but when that horse saw the water, he must have thought he was in a run for the roses! He took off at a full gallop and everyone was yelling at me to pull back on the reins. I was pulling so hard, I was practically lying down in the saddle. One foot slipped out of the stirrup, so I tried to wrap that around his neck. I'm pretty sure I was screaming bloody murder the whole time. Finally, one of the guides came riding towards us at a very fast pace, which startle my horse and he reared up on his hind legs like Hi-Ho Silver. Someone came in from the side and they were able to grab the reins and settle him down. I got off and rode back on the back of DH's horse without a saddle. I have never been near a horse since!

Shirley, your horses are stunning. Thank you so much for posting photos of them.

And you have a stallion? Most folks I know have them gelded to calm them. Do you breed him? Am I recognizing his beautiful head as an Arabian? If not, what breed is he?

    How often do you ride?

    I'm fascinated!

EDIT: I just read the other thread where you talk about your horses. I'm so sorry that you had to cut back, and that you see even more cutbacks on their way. Horses take a lot of work, and it's no shame to admit that work is beyond you. I say this as the daughter of a professional harness racer. My dad died relatively young, age 63, racing pretty much until he died. He lived hard, he worked hard, and he smoked WAY too hard--the combo was too much for his heart. I just want you to know that I recognize the hard work that horses take. But I'll say it again, your horses are truly beautiful.

Toni ... If I keep sewing long enough, will they make their own dinner?

Beautiful animals Shirley, when I was a kid 3 of us rode bareback on one horse and the smallest kid was behind me (I was in the middle) and when it got too rutty she was the first one to fall off and break her arm. We got in a bit of trouble needless to say.
