    Default The new tutorial

I was wondering about the quilt on the wall behind Jenny. Are the snowflake blocks applique? I'm thinking about embroidering some snowflake blocks and making a quilt like yours. That's such a simple pattern and yet it looks so great the way the 9-patch blocks are laid out. Anyway, please fill me in on those snowflake blocks, please! BTW, The new tutorial is great! I got a kick out of the opening with the little birdie (or duck) dressed up for Christmas!

I'm not sure about the snowflakes, applique or other, but I do know that particular quilt is up for grabs in the competition

Hi Rebecca, the fabric is actually batik snow flakes fussy-cut and set with the 9-patch blocks! We are just waiting for the fabric so we can make kits. Everyone is so excited about that quilt. We are actually going to give it away on Jan 2. Crazy, huh! I love your idea of embroidering snowflakes! I bet that would be gorgeous!! Hope this helps a bit, and hope you have a great weekend!!

No, it's a batik fabric that is beautiful. Can't remember the line, but I have some. If I can find it in my stash, I'll repost.

Do you know details about the quilt giveaway. What do I need to do to be in the running? Definitely interested in the kits, too.

I have also seen snowflakes cut out of felt and appliqued with just a single line of stitching in the center of each part. Looked fairly easy and gave the quilt texture with the felt.

I have to make this quilt! Please make these kits available on the website and let us know when they are in the online shop. Thanks.
