    Default Need Help Choosing Fabric

A neighbor is expecting a baby boy next month so I'm putting together a quilt for her. I'm using this as my pattern (saw a picture somewhere someone made a quilt with this pattern so I drew up my own, I need to find the picture so I can credit it)
I'm not very happy with the direction this quilt is going so far. I wish I had used more than blue scraps. I'm wondering if it would look weird to throw in orange just for that middle square? And one orange fabric or various orange fabrics? These are all the orange fabrics I have so not a ton of choices. I'm not sure what to do. Just ho-hum about this boring quilt. (It won't upload my 2nd picture so I'll try to edit later. It shows my quilt and fabric. I've tried so many times uploading and taking a new picture)

Just one square of orange in that center block might be an interesting touch.

YEAH! I finally got this picture to upload. Don't know what the deal was. I tried on 3 different camera and 3 different computers. It finally liked one of them. LOL

I think the orange would be a nice addition especially since you already have a few fabrics in there that have both blue and orange in them. That would tie the two colors together.

I think the orange would look great. I don't know how far along you are on the peicing, but could you make one of the blue stripes out of orange, too?

If you're planning a border, you could put some orange in the border.

Do you embroider or know someone who does? I think the baby's name embroidered or appliqued in orange on one of the white stripes would be very cool.

Or, even applique a sailboat or something on the top when it's done.

BTW, I don't think the blues are hoo hum. I think there's a good variety of blue.
One yard of fabric, like one cookie, is never enough!

I like the idea of embroidering the babies name in orange! Thank you for all your thoughts.

I like the pattern and what you have done so far. I think blue and orange are a lovely combination.

I love the marble orange one on the end, it looks like maybe a Stonehenge? This quilt is gonna turn out really nice. It is probably boring you because most of us are so used to working with more than two colors.

Orange is blues complimentary color so it will go great. I think it will pop. Just go with your gut. Your instincts are terrific
