    Default Garlic knot fun

    Hi

I have had some fun to night.
I watched Bonnie Hunters quilt cam on youtube and decided to try out the block.

If you put the block together like she does it goes really fast and easy.

I did not like the block to block approach so I thought what if I make coasters ? and a table topper ?

But when I got 4 blocks together and turned them around I like the look of the secondary pattern that emerged.

So I will have to put this idea on the bucket list of quilts that I want to make.

Here is pictures of what I got so far.

I do press my seams open like Leah Day does because it goes so much easier to fmq the quilt then.
Especially since my Boris (sewing machine) is sensitive to bumps in the road! ;-)

What do you think ? What layout would you choose if you were making this block ?

    Have a great evening/ day

    Annika

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

Both of them would make great looking quilts. At this point I can't decide one over another.

Really nice Annika... it's hard to decide - I really like them both.

I really like the way you laid them out on the right photo, Annika. I'm thinking if you kept on putting them together in the same way (with the dark squares on each block edge meeting), it would make a fabulous design! Wishing I had some graph paper at my desk now!

That is my thought to. almost like a crooked irish chain or something. I think it could be a very cool quilt.
