Default Oh MY....made a huge miscalculation on my tote bag!

I have made several totes as well as the Bow Tucks purses. So I decided to make a tote for my DIL who is a social worker to carry her work supplies on her house calls. It needed to be large so I decided I wanted the kind of support that it appeared that the large totes have with the straps that come from the bottom seam. Everything was going hunky-dory until I went to sew my lining to the bag at the top of the bag......where the heck do the straps go! I guess the totes like I have seen like what I wanted to make don't have linings!!

Now I don't know what to do!! Does anyone understand what I mean?

Duh! I don't see how to delete my post but as soon as I went back to my tote and looked at some other totes on line I realized that I shouldn't have taken my straps all the way to the top seam. Sorry to be so stupid!

Will this help? Jenny sews the straps into the bottom seam and sews the straps on the face of the bag. That way you can have a pocket between the straps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4-41NHuFe8

Ha ha! Yes, Teasipper.....that is the tut that I am following but I have limited internet access so I didn't watch it all the way to the end. Funny thing was, I started to not sew my handles all the way to the top and then I got confused and went ahead and did it anyway.....so I've had to rip it out! I didn't realize that that bag she was making was lined I guess!

    Thanks

Look at the pattern for The Professional Tote. The straps are sewn from the bottom. You stitch up both edges of the strap till you get about 2/3 of the way up the bag.

This is what I was thinking, but I couldn't remember the name of the pattern! Love my professional tote!
