    Default Big Star Quilt

Hi, I finished the big star quilt top and swore I will never do a big star again. Notice it is all done in browns. Measures 91 x 71. My figuring says I need to buy at least 5 1/2 yds for backing. First time I'd done a full bed size quilt top. I'm more at ease doing the lap size.

Just gorgeous! You did a great job. I am working on my first king size right now. I think it will take a few years.

Really awesome quilt LindaKay75......I love this pattern. Haven't gotten around to making this pattern, but someday ! I don't know what color(s) I would chose to make the Big Star Quilt, but I really like yours !
    Great Job !

YES! Bed size quilts are difficult to maneuver when they get close to their full size. I'm wrestling with this now. Doing a quilt with the squares on point and the rows are done on the diagonal. I have maybe four rows left on this Queen quilt and it is heavy. BUT look at the beautiful quilt you made! I love it. I will persevere on mine. Your quilt is lovely.

I bought fabric to make myself a queen size Big Star quilt, but have not started it yet. Yours turned out great! Good job!

You might consider wide backing. MSQC has a large selection of it. It is sometimes less expensive, or least about the same as many yards of normal wide fabric. No piecing either. oldsewer
