Default Stick a fork in it! Done!

This quilt has been a WIP, UFO, whatever you want to call it for at least 3-1/2 years! It is for my youngest daughter's 37th, 38th, 39th and 40th birthday, which is Thursday! We chose the fabric Sun Kissed Spa colorway by Michele D'Amore about 4 years ago. Then settled on a pattern, Field of Blue by Benartex which was designed to use Michele's next line, Moon Shadows. Finally I got around to cutting the pieces for the blocks and constructing them 2 years ago. Last year, for her birthday, I used the center of it for the tablecloth under her birthday cake. Got the borders done this January, then found out it was too long for the backing I had bought, so had to order another chunk the right length. Had my backing on the quilt frame before I went to visit her, but I didn't get around to quilting it til today. I hope the USPS gets it to her quickly, and maybe in time for her actual birthday! Glad to get this one finished and off my plate!

Wow those fabrics are just luscious!! I guarantee its worth the wait, your quilt is absolutely beautiful! That is funny how you served the birthday cake on the center block that was finished at the time. I am sure that will follow the Quilt as a memorable story. Congratulations on a wonderful finish.

Standing on my head, trying to type upside down! It is a lovely quilt, no matter which way the pictures were posted. And I am glad to know that I am not the only mother that takes a few years to get some projects finished.

Jean, what a beautiful quilt, it was certainly worth the wait! Hope it gets there in time for her birthday.

Jean! Another stellar work of art! Art isn't instant unless you are a two year old with finger paint. Love this.
