    Baby herringbone being quilted

I'm practicing swirls for the first time, and mostly happy with them! I had some tension issues with bobbin thread showing a bit on top, but got that fixed as soon as I noticed it. I need to work on making them bigger, though. I did this to see if I could use swirls on the three I'll be quilting soon, but not until I can make them bigger and looser. More practice needed.

Fabulous quilt! Your swirls are fantastic. What machine are you doing your FMQ on? They're looking good!

Those swirls are lookin' good. I learned that technique from watching Jamie Wallen's YouTube video. He teaches one how to do the swirl from 4 different directions. I practiced on paper & my white board, then on a practice sandwich before doing a quilt. It's a quilting pattern that is quick & easy & looks nice.

Your swirls look great. I know what you mean about bigger and looser. That's something I'm working on too.

I watched his videos, and they have been helpful in getting bigger swirls! Thank you so much for mentioning him!

I agree! The swirls look good! And thank you, JCY, for the info on Jamie Wallen. I think I saw a video a long time ago, but forgot about him. I went back and watched the 3 part swirls. It was very helpful.

It looks really nice to me. I like the quilting. I did a baby quilt last month. Turned it over the bobbin had acted up. Took me 2 hours to quilt and 2 days to take out all the quilting. I have started using decorative stitches to quilt small and even a king quilt and have better luck doing that.
