    Default My boats are sailing

    Hello there!
I finished my sailboat quilt yesterday and I love how it came out. There is one boat sailing in the wrong direction but so what... I made the backing out of toweling and learned important things:
It is unpossible to spraybaste toweling because it does not work and
It is also unpossible to pin baste, because it is so heavy you will need 10 000 pins.
FMQ with this back isn't fun, because it's thick and heavy.

There are some folds on the back, but I don't care...i can't wait for the summer to come using this quilt for
    swimming !

Well! That's darling. It looks like those boats are sailing off into a sunset with the background fabric you chose for the boats. Really cute. I've never heard of anyone using toweling for a backing. Interesting idea and perfect for the beach.

Super awsome quilt.... one of you boats may not have wanted to go to the same place right??? That would be my answer!
This a truly wonderful quilt.. LOVE the toweling idea. Kudos to you for trying something different and loving it for the learning process. We learn nothing and don't "grow" from doing the same thing over and over again) Hugs, GB

Absolutely amazing job on the quilt. The motif is fabulous and stands out so vividly. Toweling will Make a fabulous beach blanket but the sand...oh no...it will make it wear out ...but then again...whats it for if not to use.
