Default Ms Ugly is now Ms. Oogy!

Did you know that your quilts have ears? Yes, they can hear! Every time you say something bad that hurts their feelings, they can hear you and take swift revenge!

Some of you may remember my saga with the ugly quilt and I called her "ugly." After I put my feelings in print, she decided to get even and knock me on my behind for nearly 3 weeks Yup, been on the sofa for 3 weeks suffering. I finally finished her with some batting and flannel backing. I did a simple diamond cross hatch, (because I was soooo sick of this quilt).

My GD saw the quilt on the table and expressed, "Oh, I don't think she's ugly. She looks " vintage". Can I have her? I quickly answered "yes". She replied, "We'll have to rename her Miss Oogly! lol So now the Ms. Ugly has been renamed Ms. Oogly!

Just because you thought it was 'ugly', someone else may see 'beauty'. Glad your quilt found a good home.

Sharyn - Sometimes I think that there is a generational gap in quilt appreciation. We may think it's "ugly" but the big blocks in vibrant colors is attractive and beautiful and borders on being a Modern Quilt that's so attractive to the youngsters.

Glad you decided to get back to it - and made a little lady happy in the process.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So glad for you, your granddaughter, and the quilt that this episode had a happy ending. I will listen to your advice an never call any of my quilts ugly (although I did in the past). I hope you are feeling better now.

Amen, glad the "ugly" quilt has a "good loving home". The quilt story was entertaining also. Never seems to fail that the story behind the quilt is as nice as the quilt. kathy

    Sharyn,
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" they say.......it's great that your GD saw the beauty in the quilt ! Great story Sharyn....but I am so sorry you haven't felt well for awhile.
BTW.....will take you at your word about quilts having "ears" I think that sewing machines have "ears" too....so I probably should be careful about what I say around my sewing machine and serger I suppose ! LOL !
