    Default HST conundrum

I need opinions....cut my fabric, now sewing HSTs- one fabric is 'news print' so when I cut the HSTs one of them has the print upside down 😩 Photo attached. Replace the print fabric or not?
Seems like format has changed...can't easily find the attachment 😩

I don't see the photo but I get what you are saying. I would try to use all the HST that you make, just lay them out and take a photo. Then take out the upside down ones and take another photo. They might look ok upside down. If not you'll have to save the upside down ones for some other project. I love newsprint fabric. It seems to go with everything.

I think it will be fine. Remember, that most people aren't analyzing our quilts or looking at them super close. I love your prints and think that it won't matter what direction the newsprints are facing.

At that scale I can see that one of the newsprint is upside down but depending on how the quilt is used who is to say which one is upside down. Say it is on a bed. From the foot of the bed one print is upside down, but when you are in the bed the opposite HST would be viewed as being up side down. So if you are consistent in your inconsistency, it may not actually matter.

Hi.... I played w/ it and found that I can make the newsprint come out sideways-at least they'd be consistent!? I Googled it and saw the same thing-print in all directions. My plan was just to make them all different so there wasn't a right or wrong-UNTIL I found the sideways thing.....now I might just sleep on it B4 I get a headache!!

I think I found my new motto.

I think the trick is to just use it randomly. If your whole quilt has the words (or directional print) all going in various directions it won't matter. That's what I do so that I don't drive myself crazy. As Jenny might say. "we don't die over this".
