I just got one too, I have it on my double duty table, half for cutting and half for ironing. It stays hot, hot, hot and can reheat by the time I get my pieces ready to iron. Best purchase this year

I have one too, mine is silver....and I love it. But I must admit I had forgotten that the water tank was removable and since Ive been using mine for over a year with the water tank attached.....I'm wondering why/when you would need to remove it.

The tank is removable for easy filling.

I remove the water tank and take it into the washroom where I fill it. Makes sense to me.

                  FYI,
This iron is being offered again on MassDrop in multiple colors and they're including the folding Olfa mat.

I have this but when I take it off the base it cools down really quickly. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

                        Mine tends to stay HOT.
It remains hot even when I take the iron across the room to my larger ironing board to iron a large quilt top and do not return it to the base until after I'm finished ironing the entire quilt. I do find it kind of awkward having to hold it in my hand as I rearrange the top since the iron does not sit upright. Of course, most of the time I just lay it face-down for the few seconds it takes me to shuffle the top.
I do keep my iron set on the 3rd (highest) setting most of the time.

I agree, mine cools faster than I would like but overall I like it a lot.

mine stays hot for quite a while. When I notice it is not steaming, I return it to the base for about 30 seconds and it heats back up enough for me to continue with the steam

Thanks for the heads up. I just got this blue one from Amazon for $60. I like the stand on the back. Used once - like it!

You all are the worst/best enablers!! I had really been eyeing this iron ... After reading the thread ordered the purple one from MO Star. Really had a chance to play with it today. Love it!! I'm using it on my table beside my sewing machine. It's perfect there ... Lots of steam , I like steam and really hot enough to press seams well. I'll still use my small travel iron for paper piecing ... No steam, small sole plate. But this cordless iron is the bomb for all other piecing.
