    Default My heartache...

... my cousin Mark passed away this week. He was only 37, he had a seizure and didn't come out of it.

He's been sober for years now, but too much drugs and alcohol on his brain in his early 20s did long term damage. It scares me what people can do to permanently alter their physical state. He'd had a few seizures as a child, and as an adult fought mental health issues (hence the self medication when younger) and it seems to have created a perfect storm in his brain that it just shut down. He had been struggling with medications for the past few months, and seems it was not sorted out in time.

My heart breaks for his twin brother and my Aunt and Uncle, I cannot conceive of what they are going through. His other brother just got married and had a baby who is only 4 months old. Mark was not married and did not have children, his life was not perfect, but he is loved.

Very sorry for his loss from your life and that of his family.

I'm so sorry for your loss Lou. It's always sad to lose a loved one, but even harder when they are so young.

So sorry that your cousin has died. Prayers for his family at this heart breaking time. How sad is the loss of someone so young, My brothers, sisters and I still mourn the loss of our youngest brother 23 years ago at the age of 39.

So sorry for your loss, and that he struggled so. Let's all pray for the day when mental illness is as socially acceptable as diabetes or high blood pressure.
