    Default Eggnog Snickerdoodles

Does anyone have a recipe for eggnog snickerdoodles? I use this recipe only at Christmas and it's missing. I have searched the internet ,but so far can't find anything that seems like the one I used. All I remember is that it took 1 cup of butter, rum flavoring or a couple Tbsp of eggnog. Does this sound familiar to anyone. Thanks as always for the help. kathy

I always wonder, what exactly is a "snickerdoodle"? My sister's dog is a "Labradoodle", but I don't think they're related lol Is it like a sugar cookie, or a shortbread cookie?

I found three recipes, one requires 1/2 cup of butter and 1/2 cup of shortening, but you could probably use all butter if you wanted. Another has creamer in it, not sure if your original had that or not. Here's what I found:

    Eggnog Snickerdoodles | Land O'Lakes

They are a type of sugar cookie that comes out puffy because it uses cream of tartar. Some kind of chemical reaction. I have made them from scratch but my dd uses cake mix. They are good in a pinch.

Have to put those on my list to try. But the post reminded me that I had eggnog and Amaretto, so headed right to the kitchen to make myself a little treat to drink before bed. 'Nite all.

I finally found a recipe that is about as close to eggnog snickerdoodles as can be. The name was different but the ingredients seemed to be the pretty much the same. So I will twek these a little and see happens. I thank you all for your help. kathy

Here is the cookie recipe. While it is not the one I've used before, it sounds similar. I haven't made this recipe yet. I wanted to see about making the cookies much smaller than using a 1/4c dough for one cookie. I will probably bake these this weekend. Let me know how you make out with them. If this link doesn't go thru, let me know. Kathy
