LOL!! When I was first dating my husband, his sister make kolacky cookies. He told me it was a family recipe, handed down by generations. I waited until I was married and asked for the 'secret family recipe' only to find out that the grandmother found the recipe on the back of a Solo fruit can!

My DH doesn't wait for the cool part, before he does "quality control" as he calls it. Kathy

Sorry , seems these are a favortie of all! I just got excited thinking about it))In the BC cook book they are called "Russian Teacakes",,, but most any google of snowball cookies, will get you there... all butter, flour and sugar,, with either walnuts or pecans... My DD's favorites! GB

I absolutely love fruit cake cookies, our DS does, too. I take the easy way out and use the pre-chopped fruit that comes in a plastic tub. The batter part is from my Grandmother's cookbook and is actually for mincemeat cookies. I figure the consistency of the mincemeat and the fruit is about the same. I also add pecans, afterall I am Southern.
Do not equate fruit cake [] and fruit cake cookies, not nearly the same animal.

My fave: sugar cookies with white buttercream frosting. I could eat a dozen. Right now! Cashew cookies, frosted, are also a big family favorite at our house. One of my DD will only eat chocolate chip cookies.
