    Default Craft Fair - 11/14/2015

I had my second craft fair of the season. It was amazing how different things sold at each one. The one in October, I sold lots of handbags/totes and no tablerunners. Today, I sold tablerunners and very few handbags. At both my shows I sold lots of jar openers I made with drawer liner. This was my favor that I gave out at the Forum Retreat in September. I sold so many in at the October fair, that I had to make more for todays.

I am going to try to do another fair in December.

I guess I just wanted folks who do craft fairs to know not to get discouraged if a group of items don't sell at one fair, the next one they may be the items that sell.

Sounds like you did well! I'm interested in your jar opener. I'm going to do some kitchen sets and that sounds like a perfect addition.

I post picture in morning as I have shut down my computer (I am on my kindle now). But basically I start with a 8 1/2 inch square of fabric that will be the top, a square of muslin and a square of drawer liner (which is a bumpy rubber). Sew around the edges leaving a space to turn inside out. I use a half inch seam allowance when sewing around as I find it lays flatter. I then stitch around the edges 1/8 inch.

With my machine, if I have the drawer lining on top it feeds through no problem.

I hope this makes sense. I will post pictures tomorrow.

Well done then! It is odd that what will sell just can't be predicted. I've seen that at the sales at my church too. We are always amazed that an item that is a holdover from the last sale gets sold at the next. So we don't worry if something doesn't sell, because it probably will next time.

I sold at a show today too. I sell handpainted glassware.
Was outside, 6am set up, kinda cold. Yes, interesting what sells
at one show compared to another.
