    Default Hello from Canberra, Australia

    Hi.

I'm Katherine and after stalking every MSQC YouTube video for about a year I thought I might as well leap into the community here as well (although, since it's taken so long I can't exactly call it leaping!)

I originally started quilting when I was in my mid teens. Mum thought I should learn the 'traditional' way with hand piecing and hand quilting. I also did candlewicking. Those original quilts are still holding up 30-odd years later so I suppose my stitching and poor quilt-care didn't hurt them too much.

Last year the bug caught me again, but this time I discovered MSQC tutorials and the joys of pre-cuts, machine sewn tops and machine quilting!! Oh my!

My fabric stash is overwhelming my spinning stash!

Now I'm off to wander through this lovely community and see who's doing what

    Hello Katherine and welcome,

I am just over the hill in lovely Talbingo (over the hill in lots of other ways too). I haven't been around here much for awhile but can guarantee that you won't be sorry you joined.

Hi Dece - nice to see another newbie from Aus ☺ I know that heading into Summer isn't quite quilting weather but i've got 4 kids lap quilts to finish by Christmas! Are you working on anything as the weather warms up?
