Default My very first quilt - a Log cabin in blues

I am super excited to have finished my first quilt. I kept deciding to make it bigger and made more and more blocks until I ended up with a whopping 108" square quilt. Since I wanted to quilt it myself, I used a quilt-as-you-go method and sandwiched the blocks individually. It was more work than I expected, but I am happy with the results. Wow ! That is a stunner! Great work! It is beautiful!

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

Pat yourself on the back, it's wonderful! Great job. Isn't that just the best sense of satisfaction, getting that first one finished? Congrats.

So the concentric diamond design is called "barn raising"? I didn't know the layouts have names.
