    Default Overcoming a Funk

I have really been in a funk lately, but a little Persimmon and the Lattice tutorial helped me out! Here is the small (38.5" square) quilt I made with Persimmon from Basic Grey for Moda and Jenny's Lattice tutorial. The back is some fabric from my stash. Not sure what I'm going to do with it, but it sure makes me happy! Isn't that the point? I had asked on another thread about the beige I used for the lattice so I could buy more and make this much bigger. I never did follow through with that so it is little and cute (like the little birds on some of the pieces).

It's a wonderful quilt! Was it hard to make? I watched that tutorial only the other day.

No, not really. It is important to make the little crease to align the centers of the two triangle and the lattice piece. I didn't iron them, just pinched them. I started out not doing that and found that they weren't working too well. Lesson: Jenny knows best -- just do what she says. One I did that, they came together quickly and accurately.

The quilt is as cute as it can be! I love the lattice....

Iut's easy to let yourself get into a funk......harder to get out..... You did just the right thuing....you made a pretty little quilt... Nothing better..

Sometimes it helps to Google various types of quilts, or to go through magazines ....I have all of the Quilting Quicklys, and BLOCKS, and find them to be hugely inspiring.

Right now, I find myself playing with four patches and sixteen patches....not exactly making anything......I had to order more Kona White, for one thing... Anyway, there are ideas in my head....I just need to get them into quilts... I often get lost along the way...

Great job! A quilt with the lattice is on my LONG list of quilts I want to do. Love your colors.

I'm doing a lattice quilt for my oldest GD. Haven't decided how to quilt it yet. Any suggestions?

You did well young Jedi! The force is with you... Happiness is always a good result. It will be a lovely lap quilt for you... or a baby quilt for a new one... even a Table Topper if you want! Very spring and summer! Sweet!

Can completely understand the being in a funk .... I used my annual leave to egt out of it in my very own special quilt retreat with me. Persomon is so lovely, I gifted one charm pack to my sister, but it seems not easy to egt any more.
Lattice looks lovely and I will surely check out the tut by Jenny on that.
be happy and proud of the result and getting into sewing again.
