    Default To sash or not?

Making this for a dear friend. Should I sash between the blocks? Or do a border or not?Click image for larger version.

I'd just add a border. Love the soft colors.

Pretty! I like 'skinny' sashes, and a skinny border the same width. I'm not a border person, but I think that's what I would do.

No sashing. A border would look good.

Lovely quilt. Why don't you audition it by pulling the squares apart to see if you like sashing? You could play with different sizes to see what pleases your eye. I do this when I am in doubt. A border would be lovely as well. Whatever you do, your friend will love it. I know I would if it were gifted to me.

I'm more and more liking the simplicity of no border, unless you need the extra size. No sashing either, the fabrics are beautiful just as they are.

I agree. Have an audition! Maybe even post here for us to see? I think solid color sashing would look very nice, but can't be sure until you actually lay some material between the blocks, which, by the way, are VERY pretty.

    I agree as well.

Yes to a border. Perhaps the same color as the center block. I like how the blocks come together, so I vote no sashing. Then again, the middle of the pic with the white showing may hint to a sashing. So, now, I vote for an audition.

So soft and feminine. I would not sash, but would add a border. As others have said....audition it with each option and see what you like best.
