I have used flannel for backing but usually prewash to shrink. Haven't used the woolies precuts but I think they are gorgeous. I love your quilt. My pinking shears are incredibly dull. I am wondering if it would help nect time to use a zigzag stitch instead of a straight stitch to join the blocks together? Maybe someone here would know if that would make a difference. Serging the edges is a great idea but not everyone has a serger, I don't.

Sorry you had problems with your first quilt. Others have already given great advice. I really love your colors and the red ties. It looks so warm & cozy. Beautiful quilt.

It's the scant 1/4 inch seam that was most likely the culprit. 1/2 inch seam when using flannel - the shrinkage though.. Sounds kinda like a cheap flannel but the woolies are not cheapies, so I'm stumped there.
