The purple are beautiful -- they looked like stained glass. But nope, mine are the ones that are scrap-tastic. Vicky, who made the purple, had her spot a week ahead -- gifted by a friend who couldn't make it -- but wanted to use fabric she had rather than go shopping for more, so she used yardage. She's an amazing quilter, and showed a truly gorgeous scrappy quilt she had made from a Bonnie Hunter pattern at the lunchtime show & share. The show & share was so impressive -- there are folks in that guild whose work is exquisite.

I think your blocks looked great, too. Reading the comments along the right side of the page, I saw a comment about loving to learn about Jim The Wonder Dog, who was from Marshall. If you haven't heard of him, you need to google him. I know we have a lot of dog lovers on here, so it will be well worth your time.

Claire, I like yours the best. Your blocks actually embrace the whole scrap quilting, make do thing that Bonnie Hunter likes. (and so do I!!)

Thanks, everyone! Blondie, I was so hoping to learn how to be scrappy and not so fearful of scrap quilting from Bonnie, and it really helped!

The whole episode feels to me like one of those times when you learn that marching to your own beat has its rewards. If I had planned ahead and been all cohesive too, instead of digging through my scraps & stash, I bet my blocks wouldn't have made the blog!

I just want to add that your blocks look like Bonnie's style. Look at the quilt at the top of the page on the her blog. Good job!

So maybe I marched to Bonnie's beat -- I love her beat, so that's good enough for me!
