All these years of sewing and quilt piecing...I just sliced the top of my left index finer into the nail bed (60 mm blade)...bleeding a lot!

Oh no! That's awful but I hope it heals fast! I haven't done that yet.....knocks on wood.

Oh no' I'm so sorry. I know those type of cuts do bleed a lot. Take care and hope you feel better soon.

so sorry you have an ouchie.. I said the same thing after all these years then I cut my thumb... but stupidly by keeping an open new cutter with a new blade in it in the open position in my hand when i crossed my other hand to get something. Yep now I put my blade down closed befor reaching across anything for anything.

It's bound to happen sooner or later, I think. It's just like the more you're on the highway the greater the odds you'll be in an accident. It doesn't keep us from where we need to go but we sometimes need to slow down and be more cautious.

Thanks, to all the well wishes! I was going too fast (was cutting jelly roll strips for the Flutterby quilt/Oh Clementine by Windham).....I was getting so much done this weekend...I'll wait until the finger is much better!

Sandy...Yep, I have Bandaids, but DH is going to the store for extra first aid...the band-aids can't go it alone!!!!!

I had to use butterfly bandages on mine plus bandaids and I still have a scar with some rough scar tissue
