Yes, I've been teaching girl scouts (little ones) to sew and knit. It's slow going, but, cross my fingers, someday they'll be happy they learned.

My beautiful grandaughter sat at my machine at age 6 and did her first squares for her first quilt, she was so excited but afraid she would sew her fingers together lol. She is now 15.

I taught my sons the basics of how to use the sewing machine, just like we taught them to cook & clean & do household repairs. None of them ever wanted to try quilting, but they can at least do mending on their clothes... LOL
I didn't have any girls, but now I have one granddaughter. We will be moving closer to the grands next year & I'm looking forward to teaching her to sew among other things.

Taught both my daughters but since they work full-time, they find it easier to 'ask mom' to do it for them.

Yes I have had the pleasure of teaching a couple of young ones how to sew. It is an absolute blast! Before I started quilting, when my DS was younger he had multiple collections and needed bags to keep his collections in. So we found fabric he liked and made several cinch bags for him.

Later after learning to quilt, I have worked with several of my nieces to teach them to sew. All took part in sewing some pieces of their quilt (with special "Auntie Hugs and Kisses") together. I sew loved the look on their faces when they had seen what they helped create.

No, I have not had the chance to teach a little one to sew. I did try to teach my sister way back when I was first married to my first husband and she was staying with us for the summer (she was about 12 years old). It didn't really go too well.

I am teaching my granddaughter to sew. We started with headbands! So far so good. Four amazing headbands completed. Now on to something special for her mother.

I haven't taught any to sew...scrapbooking, beading & cross stitch are all YES :-)

Yes, teaching my granddaughters how to make a rag quilt. We had so much fun!!

No little people...but some lady friends from work...easy things to start with like pillowcases and totes...we had so much fun...especially ME!

I taught two of my daughters to sew. I regret that I didn't spend more time sewing with them; it was more my way to have time alone. That's what I get for being an introvert!

I taught my daughter to sew when she was young but she really never got into it. Recently I gave my old sewing machine to my friend's10 year old daughter who learning to sew. I was glad to give it to someone who wants to learn a great life skill.

I did teach my daughter many years ago. I bought her a sewing machine a few years ago and she has mad two quilts.

Tried to get my daughter to help with quilt, but after about 10 minutes of trying to sew a straight line she just threw up her hands and said she was done for good....Thats okay, just means more fabric for me.
