Default Left overs ended up creating a second pattern.

This was one of those projects where I did not buy enough fabric and then had to buy as much all over. Luckily it was still available. I also ended up making a few too many pieces and as I sewed joined a few the wrong way- long side instead of short side. It was supposed to be a periwinkle which joins 4 pieces- You join 2 and 2 on the side seam and then sew the long seam. I had accidently sewed 2 on the long seam. Since I had made too many I had set the mistakes aside. When the first quilt was done I had way to much left over plus some fabric I had picked for borders that I had decided not to use. So this went into the second quilt for my son to make it pop a little and use as borders. So here are the two quilts. The block is a picture of what the Periwinkle block it supposed to be. The second two photos are the king that is out for quilting and the last is the mistake quilt. If no one has made this error before I think it works out nicely in a quilt. And a mistake is now going to be a Christmas present.

    Wonderful quilt! Lots of movement..
I really like the pattern but I don't think I would attempt it.
    It looks too difficult.
    Great job.
    Thanks for sharing,.

I love that block, but it does look difficult. Both quilts turned out beautifully

Thanks for sharing. Looks like a great way to make lemonade out of lemons (so to speak).

I like your colorways, they speak to me. The pattern, however is not one I would attempt, but I do appreciate yours.

Both quilts are lovely. I, too, like the colorways you chose. And it is so great to be able to turn leftovers into something so special.

Don't you just love it when you can take a wrong and make it a right!
