    Hi-
I grew up in Longmeadow and lived in Springfield before I moved to Suffield, so we really are neighbors.

    Songbird,
I am so new to quilting that I don't even know of any quilt shops besides Quilts and treasures in East Longmeadow. Are there any other ones that you recommend?

Bayberry Quilts in Chicopee is good - shop is in an old farmhouse... she has a large selection there, and has discounted fabric on the enclosed porch - usually 40% off, 50 percent if you take what's left on the bolt . They also have longarm service that seems really reasonably priced - I may decide to use them to quilt a queen size that I am working on.
I am partial to Pumpkin Patch in Lee when I am in that area - tiny shop, not a ton of selection, but the staff is nice.
Funny thing about Bayberry - I just noticed on their website that they have a gift shop on the second floor - I've never been on the second floor
