1992-and the beat goes on......... And I was making this for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. They were married 64 1/2 years when they passed within 5 weeks of each other with the quilt still in pieces.....

I believe it took me a little over three months of constantly working on a twin size quilt with many small pieces. Never again. Big is beautiful!

I retired in 2010 and took my first quilting class and made my first complete quilt top. Several quilt tops later I finally took my first quilt to the LAQ. I recently got it back and it is beautiful. I'm in the process of binding now.

    Congratulations Skymom and GrannyJudy!
I wanted to learn to quilt way back in 1996, so I took a class at a high school at night. We made a top, but never learned to quilt it. It was put away and life got in the way. When I had time, I didn't have a sewing machine for 9 years. I got a new machine 5 years ago and started learning through you tube and I found Jenny. At first I was just doing some sewing, like pillowcases and totes, but since then I have made 3 quilts. I finally took out the one from 1996 and finished it 2 years ago. So therefore my longest time to finish a quilt was 17 years.

Started one for my son when I began quilting in 2001 - finished it after he had moved out and was on his own in 2010.

A scrappy rail fence that I only worked on at our cottage during the summer months took 3 summers to complete. But now it is on our bed keeping us warm at night - finally. And by the way, it didn't even put a dent in my scrap pile. Bummer!!
