It's gorgeous! Yes it does look like a stained glass window. So pretty.

I am so impressed with your quilt. YES! It's amazing how it really looks like stained glass. The blue you chose for the dragonflies is such a great choice since it actually looks like the sun is shining on the window. How on earth did you have the patience to add all those strips of binding around each piece? Did you use a 1/4" binding tool to make it or did you buy it ready-made? I'm assuming the pieces are raw-edge appliqué with the binding sewn down over the edges. Did you use clear thread or do all the stitching by hand? Curious minds would like to know.

I followed the pattern, used fabric chosen from my own stash, and traced and cut out each piece which was raw edge fused with Pellon Wonder Under 805.

Since this is intended to be a wall quilt that is just going to hang on a door I took the easiest way out. The individual pieces are raw edge fused onto a Kona black background. I prefer the Kona black because it is so rich and dark. There is no 1/4 inch bias binding around the pieces. I used a light box to help me keep everything lined up so it kept the gap between the pieces even. I haven't sewn the pieces down yet. I was so excited I wanted to post a preview picture.

Here is a picture of the WIP to give you a better idea of how the pieces are just raw edge fused to the black background.Click image for larger version.
