Glad to know that I am not alone in stopping and recycling trash into treasures !!! Have gotten a good many useful items that way, but the only crib so far was a vintage 1950 doll crib that DH refurbished into a working crib again for the Great Grands. They love it. Now I need to find a grown up version for us !!!!

I LOVE the crib display idea Monique! I still have the baby my children slept in. I can't bear to throw it away, but I couldn't hand it down for the grands since it isn't up to today's safety standards. Thanks for such a creative idea!

I wish I had kept the crib we had for the kids.....I hated to get rid of it.
Using it to display quilts would have been a great idea !

They are really nice but I just do not have room for a display like that. I want to make something that I could store quilts in and still allow air to get to them. I am the builder in the family so I will have to design something. You don't want my husband near a table saw. He lets the wood go when he gets near the blade. . LOL

I love the crib idea too, I am on the look out for a crib too....hope I find one !
I am hoping that my daughter does not decide to have another baby. They have 3, and that is plenty. I could use another quilt rack.

Well I need to go shopping in my attic. I have the baby crib my 3 kids slept in and it was the crib that my husband and his brother and sister slept in and just couldn't get rid of it for the sentimental value. Just have been thinking what to do with it and now I know. I need a bench for my foyer. Thanks for the posts.

When I had my second son, my dear friend had her husband make a cradle for me. It was beautiful. But as sometimes happens, after years the friendship dwindled away. At some point, when my "life" was breaking up and reforming, I had to get rid of most of the sentimental objects I owned. The cradle was sold, but I don't even remember the exact circumstances. I hate that.
